About me

“History is not history unless it is the truth”

-Abraham Lincoln

I have been studying the Lincoln Family for more than 50 years. I have performed at The Lincoln Home National Historic Site (one of only 4 women who have done so), and I have spoken to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum volunteers.  My interest in the Lincolns led me to an interest in the Presidents, First Ladies, and their families. My husband & I have traveled to many Presidential Libraries across the country, and we have a goal of visiting all of them in the next few years.

I am also an avid Disney fan, and my family & I have traveled to Disney World more than 30 times since 2007. We subscribe to Disney+ and own Disney Vacation Club & D23 Club Memberships. My favorite Disney park is EPCOT Center, and my favorite Disney attraction is The Enchanted Tiki Room.

Over the last 25 years, I have spoken at libraries, schools, churches, senior groups, and park districts throughout the country. I love to share my knowledge of and enthusiasm for our country’s history with audiences.

I have an extensive collection of books on the Lincoln family, emphasizing Mrs. Lincoln and their Springfield years. I have done primary source research at the Chicago Historical Society, the Illinois State Historical Library, and the Batavia Depot Museum, among other places & I have used these family letters, court documents, and period newspapers to write my performance & lecture outlines.

I am one of the founders of a group called “Mary Lincoln’s Coterie,” which is dedicated to the memory and legacy of Mary Lincoln. The group holds lectures and discussions every month via zoom and, since 2001, has hosted a symposium every summer in Springfield, IL.

I have a background in theatre, as I was the co-producer for the Bartlett Park District Theatre Program for over 10 years, and I have worked with The Mystery Shop,  a traveling mystery theatre company, since 2001.

I live in Bartlett, Illinois, with my husband Brian, son Steven, and 2 Siamese cats, Rajah & Jasmine.
